Stansted Airport
London Stansted Airport is currently the fourth busiest airport in the UK, and is also the fastest growing major airport in Europe. It is also the main point of departure/arrival used by many leading low cost airlines. There are currently major expansion plans for Stansted, which will be the first airport in the South East of England to receive a new runway in over 50 years, and it is expected that this will be operational by the year 2012.
Essex has many historic houses and gardens including Saling hall garden, the Gardens of Easton lodge, Paycocke's an example of early 16 th century architecture as well as Ingatestone Hall also built in the 16 th century. Colchester castle is an interesting place to visit as it was built about 1080 and has the largest keep in Europe . It also boasts Southend and Clacton which are popular family seaside destinations.
