Gatwick Airport Information

Gatwick is the second busiest airport in the UK, and is also the busiest single runway airport in the world. It is also the 6th busiest international airport in the world.

There are more than 900 rail services a day to and from Gatwick airport, with in excess of 400 express coach services on a daily basis, making Gatwick ideally situated for public transport links.

London Gatwick Airport has two terminals:

North Terminal

Gatwick's North Terminal opened in 1988. The North Terminal handles flights by British Airways, Air2000, Astraeus, Delta Airlines and others. You can find Arrivals on the ground floor, and check-in can be located on the second floor. On the first floor is Avenue shopping

South Terminal

Gatwick's South Terminal opened in 1958. Arrivals and Check-in can be found on the same level. The South Terminal handles flights by Britannia Airways, Monarch Airlines, Excel Airways, Virgin Atlantic and many others (the South Terminal handles the bulk of Gatwick's traffic, for both domestic and international flights).

Shopping and Facilities

There is a wide array of shops available for the traveller at Gatwick airport including The Body Shop, Accessorize, Monsoon, Boots, Virgin, The Link, and Tie Rack. After security control, you have access to Tax Free shopping at Dixons, World Duty Free, WH Smith, HMV, Harrods, Best Of The Best and many others.

There are hair salons for both ladies and gentlemen at the North Terminal, South Terminal, the Meridian Hotel, and London Gatwick Hilton Hotel.

The South Terminal also has access to the internet via an Internet Cafe, so you can surf in comfort whilst you wait for your flight.
