London Stansted Airport is currently the fourth busiest airport in the UK, and is also the fastest growing major airport in Europe. It is also the main point of departure/arrival used by many leading low cost airlines. There are currently major expansion plans for Stansted, which will be the first airport in the South East of England to receive a new runway in over 50 years, and it is expected that this will be operational by the year 2012.
There is only one terminal at Stansted airport, but this sports a wide variety of facilities and shops.
