Although small, Durham Tees Valley Airport still offers the important necessary shops for the traveller, such as W H Smith and Alpha Retail, which carries a full range of Duty and Tax Free goods. Additionally, Café Oasis and Yard of Ale, in the terminal and Café Express and Yard of Ale in the departure lounge provide a variety of food and drink.
The county of Durham lies between the rivers Tyne and the Tees, east of the Pennines in the North of England. Durham is famous for its diverse geography, ranging from the industrialised nature of East and South Durham, to the moorlands of the Tees Valley, and is very popular with ramblers.
