Bristol International Airport is the main commercial airport for Bristol. In March 1997 the name was changed from Bristol Airport to Bristol International Airport. In 2000, passenger numbers exceeded two million, and travelling customers broke the three million barrier in 2002, which was largely due to the arrival of the low-cost carrier airlines. Its abundance of restaurants, bars and cinemas plus art galleries makes Bristol a great place to visit.
